Q: Do I have to be a member to attend KDP events?
A: NO! All are welcome to KDP events. But, once initiation occurs, membership is required for events. Once you are eligible to become a member, it is a great idea to do so in order to get the benefits of being a KDP member.

Q: How do I become a member?
A: KDP has a spring and fall initiation to induct new members into the organization. Individuals who have at least a 3.0 GPA in the College of Education and have taken/are enrolled in 2 education courses are able to join.

Q: When is too late to join?
A: New members can join in both the Fall and Spring Semester by filling out the application. The due date is determined by the executive board.

Q: What are my dues used for?
A: Local dues are used to purchase supplies and snacks that will be used at various events. National dues provide members will access to KDP resources like webinars, scholarships, and other discounts.

Q: What is required of me once I am a member of KDP?
A: Members can earn either Kappa, Kappa Delta, or Kappa Delta Pi status. Kappa status requires members to earn 1 point (paid dues), Kappa Delta earns 15 points, and Kappa Delta Pi requires 24 points.
Q: What do I earn with each status?
A: Individuals who earn Kappa status receive a certificate of completion. Those with Kappa Delta status earn a certificate of completion and an honors cord, and Kappa Delta Pi status earn a certificate of completion, honors cords, an MSU artifact, and a letter of commendation. ​

Q: Where can I see my points?
A: Points are displayed in Flare. The link to join will be found in the member resources tab.

Q: What are the dues?
A: National dues = $71.40 ($65 for new members)
Chapter dues = $17
Total Dues = $88.40 ($82 for new members)
